Story picks up almost right where it left off in Legend, Day and June are still on the trains, working their way to the city of Las Vegas. There they hope to find the Patriots, and with them, Tess. Then it's onto the war front to find Eden, and then get the hell out of the Republic. But things never go according to plan. A nasty leg wound forces June and Day to join the Patriots, and work for them. But when they find out just what the Patriots have in mind for them, will they betray everyone again?? And how about that relationship? We saw the startings of something good on the streets of Los Angeles, but in a new city, with new dangers, and new distractions, will all that fall apart??

I must admit, I was a little nervous about how this one would go. I've been hurt by bad sequels to apocalyptic love stories in the past, and I just didn't want to be hurt again.

I need not have worried. This was fantastic. Right from the start the story was kicking, and it didn't let you stop and breath until the last page. The story had the same quality, the characters had the same personality traits that I had fallen in love with in the first book, and they even added in some new twists that I did not see coming. I didn't cry, but I felt the sadness and frustration in some of the hard decisions that were made, and I loved it! Champion can not get here fast enough.

This was not what I was expecting out of Libba Bray. I have read a lot of her other books, and while I don't like her panache for killing off major characters, I have always loved her books. But not this one! I was so excited for this book, and it just did not live up to expectations. No major characters died right at the end, stabbing me right in the heart, but really nothing happened at the end of the book. They fix the major issue of the book, whatever that's fine, and there is like six more chapters where NOTHING happens!! How can that even happen?? And not even does nothing happen, the same nothing happens. Every single chapter has someone standing, usually looking off into the distance, saying that "a storm is coming" and that "we have to prepare". Yeah after the fourth time I got! Bad shit is coming! Stop pulling the blindfolds over the Diviner's eyes and get them ready!!

Sam Lloyd was my favorite character, and he was such a waste. He kind of floundered about, like Libba Bray wanted a funny, lively character but didn't know how to work him into the text. And I hated the last chapter!! How dare Evie!

All in all, this book was too long, and while there was action, it was spread out over pages and pages about the gathering mist, passing clouds, and cryptic warnings that are never explained. Why, just why would I even care?

Final chapter of the Matched trilogy. Cassia has returned to Society, working for the Rising, living pretty much her normal life. I thought that this book was a great conclusion to the entire story. This series was, in my opinion, not as good as other end-of-the-world love triangles, like the Hunger Games, but it was in no means a bad story. Cassia, Ky and Xander are all great lovable characters, and Ky and Xander were both so great that I actually didn't care who Cassia ended up with! Wow, starting the first few pages, this book gripped me and wouldn't let go. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it, I was wishing that I had it with me, and I was wishing that I was reading it. It was addictive and a number of naps during the school day are thanks to staying up late into the night to read every word I could through drooping eyelids. I think Mara and her family might be Indian (as in from India), but that's not how I pictured them. In my mind, her older brother, Daniel, has the face of Josh Bowman, who plays the character of the same name, Daniel, on one of my favorite shows, Revenge. Mara is small and cute, with dark blonde hair, and natural highlights--much like my own. Mara has to deal with her own traumas and overcome the challenges of uncovering the truth of what happened to Rachel. Mara is an intriguing character, but let's be honest, the star of this book is Noah. He is gorgeous and British (very du jour), he has the bad boy exterior but to Mara he reveals his true inner core. My favorite scene in the book is when they are in Mara's bed, I thought that that was just adorable! Can't wait to get my hands on the next book, The Evolution of Mara Dyer !!
